Exhibition | The Courtauld Gallery | Somerset House
This summer, The Courtauld Gallery presents Hepworth in Colour, a major exhibition exploring Barbara Hepworth’s lifelong fascination with colour.
Best known for her abstract sculptures shaped by nature and the Cornish coast, Hepworth used colour in ways that still feel quietly radical: blues set inside carved hollows, yellow drawn across stone, painted surfaces held in tension with wood, bronze and string.
The exhibition brings together around 20 sculptures and 30 drawings, placing Hepworth’s carved forms alongside her painted and graphic work. It offers a fresh view of one of the defining British artists of the 20th century, and a beautiful reason to visit Somerset House this summer.
Poon’s at Somerset House is just moments from The Courtauld Gallery, open for lunch, dinner and drinks before or after your visit.
