Poon’s at Somerset House

Where you come if you don’t have a nice Chinese friend to cook for you at home.

As you may have heard, we are finally opening a restaurant, having searched for a long time for a suitable home. Poon's at Somerset House opens to the public in November.

Where you come if you don’t have a nice Chinese friend to cook for you at home.

At Poon’s, we bring the warmth and authenticity of home-cooked Chinese food to the table. Think of it as dining with family, where every dish is prepared with love, care, and a touch of tradition.

It’s the kind of cooking you wish someone would invite you over for ― the flavours of home, served with hospitality, a place to sit around the table with close friends, share a meal of edible love, and leave feeling nourished and content.

“This is a deeply personal project, one which I swore never to get involved in and which I managed to avoid for most of my adult working life. Nothing tastes quite as good as nostalgia, so I open my doors with some trepidation. At the same time, I am excited to share with you my chapter of Poon’s, the sequel – the culmination of various residencies and pop-ups, as well as gently percolating ideas around the pleasure and meaning of Chinese food.” - Amy Poon
